Amanda
Support Amanda’s Medical Care!
Meet Amanda, the sweetest 7-pound tabby with a calm, loving personality. Amanda is a senior kitty with a big heart who loves nothing more than curling up in her human’s lap for cuddles. When she’s especially happy, she’ll face plant onto you! It’s the cutest! Amanda loves to explore behind doors and has great litter box manners!
Shortly after we pulled Amanda from the shelter, in March 2021, we discovered Amanda had renal disease and high blood pressure due to an enlarged heart which medications and a special diet have been keeping in check. (…)

Koda
Koda is a sweet, laid back 15 year old Belgian Malinois and a lifetime foster with LOVEPAWS, meaning she is not available for adoption. Due to her advanced age and the desire to spare her from having to adjust to a new home at age 15, we have decided that her foster home will be her forever home. We’re happy she will get to live out the rest of her life with her foster mommy.
Koda and her brother Paco (a senior brindle pittie) came to us through our community outreach program after their owner passed away suddenly. The neighbors came together to take turns feeding and walking Koda and Paco while they searched for a rescue to take them in. (…)

LOVEPAWS

LOVEPAWS Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible and go towards the care of the animals in our rescue and animals we assist in our community to keep them with their families and out of overcrowded shelters.
LOVEPAWS is an animal rescue and community outreach organization dedicated to helping keep pets out of the Prince George’s and Montgomery County animal shelters through our pantry and other community services to pet owners. We are also dedicated to advocating for the pit bulls of Prince George’s County animal shelter by placing them into foster homes and finding them loving fur-ever homes while also advocating for the repeal of the decades-old, discriminatory and ineffective County-wide pit bull ban.

Jackie's Fund

Jackie Farry adopted two pit bulls, Mary and Ruby (mother and daughter), from LOVEPAWS. Both dogs were pulled from the PG County animal shelter (PGASD) and were victims of BSL (the County-wide pit bull ban). Jackie was an avid dog lover with a passion for helping the “PG pitties”, the underdogs of our community. Jackie was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (cancer) and passed away January 11, 2025.
After her diagnosis, Jackie reached out to us about creating a fund dedicated to rescuing the PG pitties, with a focus on those with medical needs and made a generous donation to start the fund. We are deeply saddened by Jackie’s passing but are humbled and honored to be able to have established this fund in her memory.
If you would like to donate to help us support the PG pitties in her honor, please click on the link below. These funds will be dedicated to the medical and other needs of pit bulls that we pull from PGASD.
